Adult Literacy Project :

Adult literacy is one of our Foundation’s crucial projects for the well-being and development of our communities for several reasons:
- It promotes empowerment, economic and community development, health and well-being, educational attainment, social cohesion, and reduced poverty and crime.
- Individuals participate more fully in society, enabling them to access information, communicate effectively, and advocate for themselves and their communities.
- It enhances their ability to make informed decisions about health, finances, education, civic engagement and individuals employability leading to economic self-sufficiency and a greater social cohesion and collective action.
- Literacy skills are closely linked to health outcomes, as individuals are able to understand health information, leading to better health outcomes and reduced healthcare disparities within communities.
- It has been proven that parents with higher literacy levels are better equipped to support their children’s education, fostering a culture of learning within families and communities. Hence, Adult literacy programs can empower parents to engage more actively in their children’s schooling, leading to improved educational outcomes for future generations.
- Literacy is a key factor in breaking the cycle of poverty and reducing crime rates within communities. These programmes can help lift individuals out of poverty and decrease the likelihood of involvement in criminal activities.
We are proud to announce the Launch of our Arumeru Community Adult Literacy Programme on 27 April, 2024 to foster these benefits.
Alternative Energy Sources:

- Promoting the production and use of bio charcoal and biogas to reduce reliance on forest resources and improve environmental sustainability.
- Using waste paper, tree leaves, grass, coconut husks, and soil to make briquettes charcoal for energy as alternative energy sources and efficient cooking technologies to improve environmental sustainability.
- Over-dependence on forest produce for cooking and heating, exerts enormous pressure on forests resulting in the wanton cutting down of trees causing environmental degradation.
- Availability and accessibility of briquettes as other alternative energy sources can help reduce pressure on forests and demand for illegal charcoal and firewood hence contributing to the restoration of forest cover through reforestation and natural regeneration.
- Use of animal dung.
- A TCF Team is on the ground working with experts on making this project a reality. A professional trainer has offered to train the communities soon.
